Behavior Code
West Chicago Park District promotes the concept of “equal fun for everyone” and strives to accomplish this belief through our program goals. Program participants are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior at all times. The District's behavior code states that participants shall show respect to all participants and staff, refrain from using foul language, refrain from causing bodily harm, and show respect to equipment, supplies, and facilities. Additional policies may be developed for specific programs, camps, and integrated programs. The West Chicago Park District reserves the right to dismiss a participant from any program due to a violation of the stated behavior code. Each situation will be evaluated on its own merit.
Discipline
A caring, positive approach will be used regarding discipline.
Program Waiver Explanation
The West Chicago Park District is a member of Park District Risk Management Association (PDRMA), a self-insured pool. As a loss prevention measure, this group requires program participants to execute a Waiver, Release and Hold Harmless Agreement.
The Waiver, Release and Hold Harmless Agreement is located at the bottom of the registration form. Please read the form carefully, sign it, and submit it when you register for any particular program. At the time of registration, or at the first program session, you may be presented with a sheet describing some of the risks involved in the particular activity for which you have registered. If so, that additional material will become a part of the Waiver, Release and Hold Harmless Agreement.
We want the registrants in our programs to be aware in advance that, when they participate in certain activities, there is a natural element of risk of injury which each participant must assume. We do not carry medical or accident insurance for program participants. The costs of that type of insurance would make program fees prohibitive. Please review your personal health insurance plan to be certain that you and your family have the proper coverage.
If you have any questions, please call (630) 231-9474.
Program Waiver Requirements
All participants in Park District programs and field trips must sign the Waiver, Release and Hold Harmless Agreement.
-
Each individual participant must have a separate Waiver, Release and Hold Harmless Agreement.
-
One Waiver, Release and Hold Harmless Agreement per person is sufficient for any program in which the person participates during a program season.
-
The Waiver, Release and Hold Harmless Agreement, must be signed by participant if 18 years of age or older or by a parent/guardian if under 18 years of age.
-
Refusal to sign the required Waiver, Release and Hold Harmless Agreement, will result in loss of the ability to participate in programs.
